Board Games are a many-splendored useful tool in business.

According to Motley Fool, the financial company benefited even further, in that it saw a much lower health premium rate than it had before. The company accredits this to its anti-stress culture - which includes offering board games for staff to indulge in during their regularly encouraged breaks.

Games don't all need to be overtly entertaining, to have relevance. While it helps to engage interest, when it comes to the business environment, a game developed specifically for a particular company, can have many benefits, including:

The popularity of immersive virtual world games, such as Second Life and World of Warcraft, have been attracting a large segment of the population. Accounting professor at Cornell University, in Ithaca, N.Y., Robert Bloomfield, is currently researching game play in the social sciences, with regard to economic policy.

Mr. Bloomfield explained, ''I got into this because I was talking to the Financial Accounting Standards Board,'' (which develops standards for publicly traded companies in the US).
