News: Web Hosting Provider, HostRail.com, Partners with Podcasts
St. Paul, Minnesota - (Website Hosting Directory) - August 7, 2008 - Internet solutions and web hosting provider, HostRail.com, has begun partnering with podcasts, in line with its hosting options and turn-key solutions offerings.
The company provides Internet services on a highly reliable grid technology. HostRail is a privately owned company located in the US with headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota.
The rising cost of web hosting and increased audience downloads have placed a strain on many podcasters who often offer their content free of charge. HostRail's sponsorship exchange program offers much needed relief from these demands.
Dylan Trooien, Manager of HostRail explained, ''We trust that podcasters will be so entirely satisfied with our products' performance that recommending us to their listeners will be something they look forward to doing.''
In exchange for a sponsorship mention on a podcaster's show and website, HostRail offers each podcast free web resources including Virtual Private Servers, Dedicated Servers, bandwidth, among other services.
Christine Prokop, marketing liaison for HostRail added, ''We are actively seeking out podcasters who are interested in receiving free web resources and excellent service. Podcasting is the wave of the future as audiences find expert advice on specific topics through the Internet. At HostRail, we encourage this entrepreneurial trend by offering free services to qualifying podcasters.''
HostRail was founded in 2004 as WhatsYourDomain by Dylan Trooien. The company originated as a domain registrar wholesaler. In 2007, the company expanded into shared and dedicated web hosting. In 2008, HostRail launched a new level of 'Fat' VPS. HostRail is a privately owned company located in the US with headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota.

News: GoDaddy Web Hosting Firm, Donates $50K to Humane Society
Scottsdale, Arizona - (Website Hosting Directory) - August 6, 2008 - Web hosting domain registrar, GoDaddy, assisted the Arizona animal rescue effort, with a $50,000 donation, for the Humane Society's annual telethon.
Go Daddy also used its expertise to organize online donations, helped answer phones and kept the live event's Web site running smoothly. If you watched the telethon you know Go Daddy donated in 'GoDaddy-esque' style too - having their CEO's own dogs deliver the donation on live television.
Bob Parsons, CEO and Founder of Go Daddy noted, ''Max and Chief are quite the dynamic duo.''
This is the third consecutive year Go Daddy co-sponsored the telethon to help animals.
Tim Crum, Executive Director of the Arizona Humane Society remarked, ''Members of our organization are still talking about what a huge help Go Daddy was to us from the start. One year, Go Daddy jumped in to save the telethon's online component, the next year they helped to significantly increase our online contributions and this year they helped us reach our goal in donations.''
While many companies are cutting back resources these days, Go Daddy is expanding its workforce, recorded an Internet-first for number of domain name registrations and made more charitable donations already this year than last.
In 2008, Go Daddy has helped disadvantaged children, Parkinson's research, domestic violence victims, homeless teenagers, flood victims and now abandoned pets, which might otherwise have to be euthanized.
In a typical year, the Arizona Humane Society shelters nearly 50,000 animals. The annual telethon not only raises much needed money for these animals, but also provides educational programs, including how to better care for your pet, fight animal cruelty and adopt a pet.
The Go Daddy Group, Inc. has more than 28 million domain names under management. Go Daddy registers, renews or transfers a domain name every second. GoDaddy.com is the world's No. 1 domain name registrar according to Name Intelligence, Inc. GoDaddy.com is also the largest paid hosting provider in the world, according to Netcraft Ltd. During 2007, The Go Daddy Group registered more than one-third of all domain names registered in the top six generic top-level domains, or gTLDs, including .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz and .mobi.
GoDaddy.com has also been honored by various industry organizations and publications as Best Registrar and Best Hosting Company already this year. In 2007, Go Daddy was named Arizona's Most Innovative Company and Business Leader of the Year.

News: Google Web Toolkit, Extends GoGrid Cloud Computing Interface
San Francisco, California - (Website Hosting Directory) - August 6, 2008 - Cloud Computing service provider, GoGrid, has recently been selected by the Google Web Toolkit (GWT) team, as a prime example of the Google AJAX development framework in action.
Justin Kitagawa, lead front-end developer for GoGrid noted, ''When we started the GoGrid project, we wanted to push the boundaries of both front end and backend technologies. We were heavily influenced by Google Maps, the new Yahoo! Mail client, and several other state of the art AJAX applications. We wanted to have a thick client feel in the browser but with the performance of a thin client. Thick clients tend to require a much larger download and overhead, yet provide a richer experience, while conversely thin clients are much faster but less engaging visually.''
GoGrid is being showcased on the GWT Featured Project Page. GoGrid's rich, interactive graphical user interface (GUI) is built using the Google Web Toolkit (GWT), an open-source Java development framework which enables GoGrid to provide a quick, responsive and interactive user experience. GoGrid is nominated for Best Virtualization Solution for the LinuxWorld 2008's Product Excellence Awards.
The Google Web Toolkit (GWT) allowed GoGrid developers to code, debug and test strong software development best practices and produce a fast, rich, friendly User Interface. GoGrid launched the Cloud Infrastructure product first with a Graphical User Interface and later added an API (Application Programming Interface).
Michael Sheehan, Technology Evangelist at GoGrid added, ''We felt that it was important to reduce the barrier to entry first, and extend the programmatic functionality to developers and system administrators with the introduction of the API later. The use of GWT allowed our developers to be able to do much more with fewer errors, delivering a more robust and graphically pleasing experience to the end-user.''
Many cloud computing providers have chosen to make their offerings visually complex or offer no Graphical Interface whatsoever. GoGrid released its Cloud Computing Infrastructure offering in March 2008, solely with the Graphic Interface because no other providers had looked at delivering ease of use AND control in the cloud at the same time.
The Google Web Toolkit (GWT) is designed to enable developers to code high-performance AJAX applications by writing the front-end in the Java programming language. GWT compiles the source code into highly optimized JavaScript. Part of the reason that GoGrid chose GWT as the development platform is because GWT produces AJAX apps that:
Load faster than hand-written JavaScript apps
Use smaller, more compact, cacheable code
Automatically support IE, Firefox, Mozilla, Safari, and Opera
GoGrid's easy-to-use graphical interface and now the GoGrid API deliver functionality and strong programmatic control, satisfying the technology requirements of novices to tech-savvy system administrators and developers alike. Users looking for a feature-rich Cloud Computing environment with a fast, flexible and elegant Graphical User Interface (a feature that is missing from Amazon's EC2 offering) now have a GWT-featured, Cloud Computing leader, GoGrid.
GoGrid is a new Cloud Computing hosted, internet service that delivers true "Control in the Cloud." GoGrid enables system administrators, developers and IT professionals to create, deploy, and control load balance cloud servers and complex hosted virtual server networks with full root access and administrative server control in minutes via a unique web control panel or API. GoGrid delivers portal controlled servers for Windows, multiple Linux operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise and CentOS) and supports application environments like Ruby on Rails. Free f5 hardware load balancing and other features are intended to give users the control of a familiar server environment with the flexibility and scalability of the cloud. GoGrid is nominated for Best Virtualization Solution for the LinuxWorld 2008's Product Excellence Awards.
