News: Search Engine for Real Estate, Debuts Over 31,000 Listings
News Related to the Web Hosting Industry
North Haven, Connecticut - (Website Hosting Directory) - April 14, 2008 - Real estate search engine, CTreal.com, has launched to search over 31,000 homes, condos, land, multifamily and commercial properties offered for sale or rent in towns throughout Connecticut.

CTreal.com is the official search site of the Connecticut Association of REALTORS, Inc. It carries the listings of the more than 13,000 members of Connecticut Multiple Listing Service, Inc., which developed the site and administers it. CTMLS is Connecticut's only statewide MLS and was founded with the sponsorship of the Connecticut Association of REALTORS, Inc. CTreal.com allows users to search listings, open houses and sold properties, take virtual tours of properties, and contact listing REALTORS. Since data for all properties is shown in the same format, comparisons are easy and always up to date.

Mary Ann Hebert, President of CTMLS noted, ''CTreal.com is the new way to find homes in Connecticut. The site instantly exposes listings posted by our members to the maximum number of REALTORS and potential buyers possible. With greater exposure can come less time on the market and multiple offers.''

Searches on CTreal.com are facilitated by Sherpa, an advanced map search tool. Traditionally, buyers looking for homes in a specific area had to search an entire town when they were only interested in a neighborhood. In addition to zip code or town search, Sherpa lets site visitors search by simply drawing the outlines of their desired area on a map.

Ms. Herbert added, ''Looking for a home with Sherpa map search is an intuitive process that mirrors the way people think about where they want to live. Buyers often look for homes in a certain area, regardless of town or zip code. They can now do this easily with Sherpa.''

CTreal.com is the only public real estate site that offers this dynamic mapping technology.

Kenneth DelVecchio, President of the Connecticut Association of REALTORS, Inc. noted, ''CTreal.com is another way in which the Connecticut MLS improves the efficiency of the state's real estate market. The site provides easy access to the vast majority of properties for sale or rent in the state. We expect it will become the search engine of choice for people seeking real estate in Connecticut.''

Connecticut Multiple Listing Service, Inc. was founded as a not-for-profit corporation in 2006. Its mission is to expand the amount and quality of listing data available to REALTORS and their clients and to improve the efficiency of the Connecticut real estate market. It provides consumers and brokers with a single real-estate listing service that brings together buyers and sellers from all parts of the state. The Connecticut MLS is sponsored by the Connecticut Association of REALTORS(R), Inc. and is governed by a board of directors made up of broker representatives of large, medium and small real estate firms throughout the state.
